Definition of LITERATURE

Literature is the art of written works. Literally translated, the word means "acquaintance with letters" (from Latin littera letter), and therefore the academic study of literature is known as Letters (as in the phrase "Arts and Letters"). In Western culture the most basic written literary types include fiction and nonfiction.

I choose this definition because it says that literature is not just written words or phrases but it was also an art. An art that you can express your feelings by using skills and efforts to form a piece of it or a piece of literature.

I choose a box because like it you don't know what is inside until you try to open it. Like a Literature you don't know what its meaning until you read it., :]
